2. The issue of gender has been central to the later development of Islam in Black America.Discuss the various strands of Muslim ‘feminism’, including their main commitments, what they seek to prioritize, how they relate to immigrant Muslim women and how successful or not you think their programs are.Given the realities of Islam in Black America, which of these strands do you think goes farthest in addressing the actual needs and aspirations of Blackamerican Muslim women on the ground? Why?And, what, in your opinion, is the future of these movements?
