Paper Topic  4: This paper topic is concerned with how an artist interpreted Dante’s  vision of the Christian Afterlife. You are not in a position to do this  paper until you have completed the lessons on Dante that are part of the  last exam.  Show how the painting Dante and His Poem by Domenico di Michelino (1465)  on page 315 of the textbook corresponds to the three worlds of the  Christian afterlife of Dante’s Divine Comedy. The picture can also be  viewed at the site with the link below. First, I want to clarify a couple points about the painting. The  large figure dressed in red is Dante who holds his book the Divine  Comedy. The walled city on the right of the picture is Florence, which  can be identified by its cathedral dome. Do not spend any time on these  parts of the painting.  2. The three worlds of the Christian afterlife are depicted on the left  and behind Dante. Spend your time here.  3. This paper is similar to the first and third topics in that it is a  comparison of literary passages to artistic reproductions of the words.  Again, do not expect the painting to be an exact rendering of the scene.  Do not tell me about things that are not there in the painting. Pick  out the features that the artist has chosen to depict and relate them to  the proper scene or desсrіption in Dante.
