Video Cover Letter

Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read Chapter 7, Chapter 8, Chapter 9, and Chapter 18 from your textbook; the web page Resume, CV, and Cover Letter Development (Links to an external site.); the document Cover Letters (Links to an external site.), and the Week 3 Weekly Lecture.

For this assignment, you will develop a two- to three-minute video that serves as a cover letter for a potential employer. This is a video and you are required to be on camera. Like a written cover letter, this video should be presented professionally and convincingly. Please be sure to wear appropriate clothing, good lighting, and slow and clear language and tone.

To complete this assignment, you may use the native video tool in your classroom. You will click on the “Submit Assignment” button in the top right-hand corner then select the “Record/Upload Media” button to record or attach your video file.

Alternatively, you may use the external platform Screencast-O-Matic (Links to an external site.). Please review the Screencast-O-Matic Quick-Start Guide (Links to an external site.) to get started. This guide will familiarize you with the tool and reviews how to upload your video to the classroom. If you choose to use yet another video recording tool for your submission, please follow the guide instructions for uploading MP4 video files to your classroom using the same steps.

Important note: All submissions require the video uploaded to the classroom. Submitting a link to a video does not fulfill the submission requirements.

• Identify specific skills you possess that align with the position this cover letter has been prepared for.
